Sustainability and Responsible Sourcing

As a leading supplier to the building industry, FloPlast will play a role in supporting the transition to a net-zero emissions, and a nature-positive built environment. Additionally, we want to positively impact communities in which we live, work, source and sell by conserving the natural resources upon which we all depend.

Whilst some areas will take longer to resolve than others, we are pleased to announce two new initiatives for 2022.

Plastic Packaging

As we are all aware plastic packaging is a concern for the planet and as a result “The Packaging Regulations” are being reformed. From 1 April 2022 the Plastic Packaging Tax is being introduced, which will see a tax of £200.00 per tonne being placed on plastic packaging that contains less than 30% recycled materials.

Whilst it has caused technical issues for manufacturers of packaging materials, FloPlast Ltd has worked tirelessly over the past 18 months with its supply chain and we are pleased to announce that all plastic packaging purchased by FloPlast Ltd, as of 1 January 2022, will contain a minimum of 30% recycled materials.

FloPlast are also committed to reducing the impact of plastic packaging around their products, the next phase is to collaborate with our customer base to reduce the amount of packaging or if possible, phase out the use of plastic packaging.

Hybrid Cars/Vans

From January 2022, FloPlast Ltd has introduced a new policy into the business, which will see all new company cars/vans being Hybrids to reduce our CO2 emissions and help the environment both locally and globally.

This is the first stage of an ambitious plan which will see all company cars/vans eventually going fully electric.
